Row for the Cure 2009 in Greenwood Lake

As you may or may not know, I began rowing this year with East Arm Rowing Club in Greenwood Lake, NY. Doing so has given me the opportunity to become a part of my local community. As such, I have registered to participate in Row for the Cure® on Sunday September 27, 2009. The regatta is hosted by the East Arm Rowing Club (EARC) to benefit the Greater NY City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The Foundation’s promise is to save lives and end breast cancer forever by ensuring quality of care for all and energizing science to find the cure for breast cancer.

The Row for the Cure® is a local event held on Greenwood Lake. Proceeds from the 5K event will benefit the nationally renowned Susan G. Komen for the Cure, supporting breast cancer research and community-based outreach programs.

The fact remains that still one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during her lifetime. That’s why I am rowing on September 27, in a boat with seven other novice rowers who are committed to rowing for the cure (and not falling into the water on the way!).

You can join me in my fight against breast cancer without even breaking sweat! Would you please consider a pledge to support my effort and our local Komen Affiliate? Your contribution is tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Though $150 is the average cost of a subsidized mammogram, whatever you can contribute is welcome--$10, $15, $20? Click on "donate" to do so.

Thank you for taking the time to read and consider this opportunity. Please contact me if you have any questions or if you want to come spend a day in Greenwood Lake watching some rowing!
